Lost in Translation - trivia (II)

Sofia wrote the script with Kirsten Dunst in mind to play Charlotte but she was attached to 'Spiderman' so Sofia opted for Scarlett Johansson after seeing her in 'Manny & Lo', a movie Johansson filmed when she was 12.

At the New York Bar/Grill in the Park Hyatt hotel, one "Lost in Translation" theme drink called L.I.T. is available.

Scarlett was reluctant to wear sheer underwear at first, until Sofia modelled them for her.

The conversation between the two men in the Sauna (near the end of the film) goes something like this:
- I can hardly eat papayas anymore!
- At first I was really happy ... at first, I thought ... well I thought...
- At the beginning, yes.
- In Germany, I was looking forward to it, but in the meantime...
- Yeah. Now, something German...
- Hmmmm.
- After this, we'll go out and get something German to eat here!

There are not much news except that Sofia has been inspired by Phoenix's song "Love like a Sunset" to do a film (I don't know if it refers to 'Somewhere' or another new idea she has on the works). Here comes the bride

Soo... the BIG NEWS today is that Sofia's girl Scarlett Johansson has married her lovebird Ryan Reynolds in Canada! Surprising news, huh? I wish this lovely couple many years of happiness and much love, and I want to dedicate this photo (which it's one of my favourites) to my personal fave Scarlett flog, /miss_scarlett http://www.fotolog.com/miss_scarlett because she does a great job and she and I have been around here like... forever!

MET Costume Institute Gala(II)

Another photo of Sofia at the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute Salutes Power of "Superheroes" Imagery in Fashion in Marc Jacobs, I think she was looking glamorous with that dress.

Sadly, there's no pics inside the gala but she was surprised to find out about Scarlett's recent engagement: "Wow, congratulations to her". Many kisses for these happy news to all the Scarlett flogs in my f/fs, those sure are the best and more original fotologs of her around.

She also has got some fine leading men, you know?

The first one to mention is her personal friend Giovanni Ribisi, who not only played Charlotte's photographer husband in 'Lost in Translation' but he also was the voice narrating the story of 'The Virgin Suicides'.

"Sometimes narration can be annoying. I wanted it to feel personal, sort of remembering--a fever dream. There's something romantic about him. He was kind of lovesick. He wasn't actory. He just got it."

Scarlett, the other Sofia girl?

Much have been said about their relationship as Scarlett was almost not present on the 'Lost in Translation' DVD extras and after Sofia forgot to thank her during her acceptance speech at the Academy Awards. When asked Scarlett said:

"That's not true at all. Sofia was lovely. She was accepting for screenwriting, and Bill basically wrote a lot of it. Sofia came up to me afterward and said, 'Oh, I'm such an ass, I forgot!' I was like, 'It's OK; it doesn't bother me.' If she was accepting for directing, then it probably would have bothered me. But, um, it didn't."

I don't think they had a rocky relationship or whatever because Scarlett would have said it, as she openly did when she said that Bill Murray and her didn't have much contact after shoots just because they did different things, and Sofia has always talked pretty nicely of her so I hope there's no drama and they work together again because that would be interesting. Way more interesting? Sofia directing both Kirsten and Scarlett together.
