MET Costume Institute Gala

As usual, Sofia was yesterday night at the MET! She looked so stunning with this look and obviously in black! I couldn't Id the dress but I'm guessing Marc Jacobs or Louis Vuitton.

About the news of an upcoming movie with Kirsten Dunst, those reports are false :´( From The Playlist:

Well, that was fun while it lasted. As you no doubt heard over the Easter weekend, the blogosphere lit up when a Twitter account supposedly belonging to Francis Ford Coppola‘s production company American Zoetrope tweeted, “Happy to announce that Kirsten Dunst has agreed to be in Sofia Coppola‘s new film ‘Secret Door’. Script is still being finished. Stay tuned!” Sounded too good to be true—and indeed, that was the case.

A few hours later some pretty obvious clues started surfacing much to our disappointment and chagrin. First, the Twitter account posted what purported to be eight pages of the script— some of the worst writing we’ve ever seen (Sample: “It was he, I pondered most of”)— and then the twitter account name changed multiple times over the day from Zoetrope Films to Sofie Coppola to MsSofia Coppola to SCoppolaFans and back to MsSofiaCoppola. Earlier today, the account more or less signed off saying “All joking aside, please follow @AmZoetrope ( for more news. This account will be deleted. Thank you. Nothing more to say. Bye.” Of course, this is a fake account too. We reached out to reps for Kirsten Dunst just to get the final confirmation of what we assumed and we’re not surprised by what we heard.

“I know they’d love to work together again but this project doesn’t even exist. Wishful thinking from someone!” a spokesperson for Dunst said. Why anyone would write a fake Sofia Coppola script is beyond us, but then again, people are writing fake “Batman” scripts so anything is possible we suppose.

So chalk it up to a bit of an excited sugar high from chocolate rabbits and quasi-hoax on the internet. But nothing to see here, please move on.

new york fashion week

New York Fashion Week was last week and Sofia couldn't be a miss! She attended several shows but she was accompained by her Virgin Suicide Kirsten Dunst at the Rodarte runway show and it's simply a joy to see them together again.

Kirsten and Sofia are really good friends and there's no doubt that they will collaborate in a near future, can't wait to see that! You can see more pics of the actress and the director as well as of Sofia at other shows below:

a toast to sofia

Sofia recieved the Special Achievement Award from The National Board of Review, such a honor! Bill Murray was the one who gave her the award and this is his amazing, touching speech:

Bill Murray: “I want the best for her because she’s a lady. She acts like a lady, the women in her movies are ladies, they have strength and power and they’re strong. Even the pole dancers in this latest movie have enough of themselves to call the lead actor a moron. As all you women should call your men this evening, I think, pole or not. So we’ll give her a boost to say, go on, you’ve made it this far, push her out into the deep water, push her out into bigger and deeper films, more and more films. She has a beautiful eye. She has great taste in the people she chooses to work with. She’s a kind and thoughtful director and editor and producer. She’s all the things that we hoped we could be when we were like this. She’s been lucky so far, and she’s been strong so far. Let’s keep her going. I appreciate your asking her to receive this award for filmmaking achievement. Ms. Ms. Ms. Sofia Coppola.”

The rest of Bill Murray’s speech to Sofia Coppola at the NBR Awards can be found here.

venice's golden lion for 'somewhere'!!!

OMFG, 'Somewhere' has won the top prize at the Venice Film Festival, that is the Golden Lion for the best movie in the festival, how amazing is this!? The president of the jury, Quentin Tarantino said it had been an unanimous decision from all the jury:

"It enchanted us from the first and it grew and grew in our hearts, in our analysis, in our minds and affections. We kept coming back to it in discussions, even when talking about other films, because we found it kept illustrating what we were looking for in the winner of our Golden Lion."

Quentin was the one who gave the award to Sofia and it was a very touching moment as they dated some years ago and remain close friends, watch it here: [ Speech video ]

Sofia was really moved and now I REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE! Congrats to Sofia!!

somewhere at venice

The movie has premiered at the Venice Film Festival with its glorious trio (Sofia, Elle and Stephen) and it got very positive reviews! This is the one I liked best:

Sofia Coppola’s 'Somewhere' is a quiet heartbreaker. Trading 'Lost in Translation’s' Tokyo hotel for Beverly Hills’ Chateau Marmont, the ever-perceptive writer-director further hones her gifts for ruefully funny observation and understated melancholy with this low-key portrait of a burned-out screen actor. - Variety

That's such good news and the three of them looked so great! Little Ellen is nearly taller than Sofia and Stephen and she's only 12! More pics from Venice: celebrity-gossip

"We have a daugther together and another one coming."

So congrats, Romy has just turned 3 and now she's going to be the big sister, they make such a beautiful family so I'm very happy for them!!! :***

MET Costume Institute Gala(II)

Another photo of Sofia at the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute Salutes Power of "Superheroes" Imagery in Fashion in Marc Jacobs, I think she was looking glamorous with that dress.

Sadly, there's no pics inside the gala but she was surprised to find out about Scarlett's recent engagement: "Wow, congratulations to her". Many kisses for these happy news to all the Scarlett flogs in my f/fs, those sure are the best and more original fotologs of her around.
